In an effort to reward IBM Software Business Partners who provide value in IBM software sales, effective May 15, 2010, IBM is changing the special bid process for North America IBM Software Business Partners.
All qualifying Business Partners have access to standard volume discounts in Passport Advantage. However, if a special bid is requested by the customer, it will be made available only to qualifying Business Partners who meet criteria for special bids. It is possible that only one Business Partner on a bid can qualify for special bid discounting.
IBM Business Partner qualification criteria for special bids:
- Must be a member of PartnerWorld
- Must be enrolled in Software Value Incentive (SVI)
- Must be enrolled in the fulfillment program associated with the products at hand -- Software Value Plus or Software ValueNet
Only transactions to be considered are GB new license special bid transactions where a Business Partner is named for participation. Compliance deals are excluded. All SWG SVP products apply, as well as SWVN InfoSphere and Optim only. Note: Cognos and Filenet products do not participate.
All Business Partners who have been approved for ID and SELL on a GB opportunity (as defined by IBM) can qualify for a special bid. Conversely, Business Partners who request special bids and have not been approved for ID and SELL may or may not receive the requested special bid.
