Are Your SVI Validations Up to Date?

Important for Arrow partners for SVP authorization

Due to the number of questions surrounding the new enrollment criteria and product group approvals for SVI participation, IBM is providing the brief excerpt below to help answer any questions you may have.

 

PLEASE NOTE THAT SOFTWARE VALUE PLUS (SVP) VALIDATIONS WILL BE BASED ON YOUR CURRENT SVI AND VAP APPROVALS. Therefore, if you have completed additional certifications since you received your SVI revalidation notifications, it is important for you to update your SVI validations prior to enrolling in SVP. Since the 2009 SVI Revalidation has been completed, IBM will not automatically register your firm for any additional product groups you become eligible for based on your certification achievements. You MUST request access for the product groups you qualify for by updating your SVI enrollment form in the Partnerworld Profiling System (PPS). You can request a product group addition by choosing the ADD A NEW PRODUCT GROUP function.

The product groups for which you were approved during the 2009 Revalidation are listed in your SVI enrollment form in PPS.

• Click on ‘Benefits and Relationships’
• Click on Software Value Incentive

New Software Value Incentive Participation Requirements
Business Partners can participate in SVI for open distribution products, products available through the Software ValueNet initiative, or products in SW Reseller Authorization groups. A Business Partner only needs to sign the agreement once per country to participate in SVI unless they are terminated, however they must request SVI approval by product group. Business Partners must request SVI approval by Reseller Authorization group, brand, and Software ValueNet portfolio.

To participate in Software Value Incentive, Business Partners must meet the following criteria:

• Be an approved member in IBM ParPartnerWorld®, at any level; and
• Agree to the SVI Terms and Conditions, submit the SVI enrollment form and be approved by IBM for SVI participation; and
• Have one (1) current software IBM Sales Certification and two (2) current software IBM Technical Certifications in at least one brand Reseller Authorization group or in one Brand (for open distribution products)

OR

• Have an effective Software ValueNet Agreement for one or more Software ValueNet portfolios participating in SVI.

To be eligible for SVI fees for specific eligible products, the Business Partner must be approved to participate in SVI and:

• For products in open distribution: have at least one qualifying sales certification and at least two qualifying technical certifications in that product’s Brand
• For products in Reseller Authorization: have at least one qualifying sales certification and at least two qualifying technical certifications in each of the products’ Reseller Authorization groups.
• For products in Software ValueNet: be approved for the Software ValueNet portfolio of the product.

After a Business Partner is approved to participate in SVI in at least one product group,
approval for additional product groups must now be requested by the Business Partner.
